The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 7 will be officially unveiled on July 10, 2024, during the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The renowned leaker Evan Blass has allegedly released official product images showcasing Samsung’s next-generation smartwatches in multiple colors.
Design and Color Options of the Galaxy Watch Ultra
The Galaxy Watch Ultra will be available in two design variants. One version features a dark gray case with a black bezel and orange accents, while the other version has a white case with a silver front and subtler orange accents. These images also show the back of the smartwatch for the first time, confirming that Samsung is using a new quick-release strap system similar to that of the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
The New Quick-Release Strap System
The innovative quick-release strap system of the Galaxy Watch Ultra allows straps to be directly inserted into the smartwatch and unlocked via two buttons on the back of the watch. The inscription on the back of the watch indicates that the smartwatch has an integrated LTE modem and a sapphire glass display cover. The case is water-resistant up to 10 ATM.
Differences from the Galaxy Watch7
In comparison, the Galaxy Watch7 features a case that is water-resistant up to 5 ATM and a GPS module, with LTE likely remaining optional. The new images show the Galaxy Watch7 with case colors such as silver, gold, and dark green. Otherwise, the design remains largely unchanged from the Galaxy Watch6, including the older quick-release strap system where the release button is part of the strap rather than the smartwatch case.
