The smartwatch landscape is about to get a whole lot more crowded, with reports suggesting that OnePlus and Oppo are preparing to unleash a barrage of five new wearable devices. Leading the charge is the highly anticipated OnePlus Watch 3, boasting a refined design and a suite of cutting-edge health features.

Recent leaks have offered a glimpse of the OnePlus Watch 3’s revamped aesthetic, featuring slimmer bezels and the inclusion of a coveted digital crown. This tactile addition promises enhanced navigation, making it easier for users to scroll through apps, zoom in on maps, and effortlessly adjust settings.

But it’s under the hood where the real excitement lies. A deep dive into the latest version of the OHealth app has revealed a treasure trove of health-tracking capabilities destined for the OnePlus Watch 3. Foremost among these is the integration of electrocardiogram (ECG) functionality, enabling users to monitor their heart rhythm for potential cardiac irregularities.

Furthermore, the smartwatch will incorporate a sophisticated skin temperature sensor, mirroring a feature seen in the Apple Watch Series 10. However, the OnePlus approach differs subtly. Instead of providing precise temperature readings, the sensor will offer valuable insights into temperature fluctuations during sleep, enhancing the accuracy of sleep tracking and cycle monitoring.

A unique feature dubbed the “60-second checkup” adds another layer of convenience. This rapid assessment collects data from all available sensors within a minute, delivering a concise overview of the user’s current health status.

While the extent of these features’ availability across the entire OnePlus Watch 3 lineup remains uncertain, the app hints at the existence of a premium OnePlus Watch 3 Pro model, likely packing even more advanced features.

Joining the fray are a trio of Oppo-branded watches: the Oppo Watch X2, the Oppo Watch X2 (46 mm), and the Oppo Watch X Pro. Although details are scarce at this stage, the OnePlus Watch 3 is rumored to be powered by Google’s Wear OS and equipped with a robust Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a substantial 500mAh battery.

This impending wave of smartwatch releases promises to inject fresh competition into the market, offering consumers a wider range of choices and pushing the boundaries of wearable technology.
