According to a current leak, Garmin will bring the Vivoactive 5, a new smartwatch, onto the market in just a few days. Specifically, Dealabs Magazine reports that the Vivoactive 5 is scheduled to launch on September 20th. As always, it is still completely unclear whether the information is accurate due to the lack of official confirmation. However, in the past, extensive information about all Garmin smartwatches was leaked before publication – which then turned out to be accurate.
Screen & Display:
According to the report, the Vivoactive 5 will now come onto the market with an AMOLED screen. The screen diagonal should be 1.2 inches and the resolution should be 390 x 390 pixels. The display is said to be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Vivoactive 5 is said to have numerous functions from the Garmin Venu 3, including wheelchair mode, sleep trainer, and nap detection.
Features:
In terms of sensors, heart rate variability should also be able to be measured; according to information from Dealabs Magazine, a GNSS module is also unsurprisingly part of the equipment. The running time should be up to 11 days with typical use; when recording training sessions with GPS recording, the watch should last a maximum of 21 hours.
Bezel & Price:
The bezel of the watch should now be made of aluminum and no longer be made of stainless steel. There is a 4-gigabyte memory. The Vivoactive 5 will only come onto the market in one size version. The price for France is just under 300 euros – which also corresponds to the introductory price of the predecessor. The street price of the Vivoactive 4 is now lower, of course.
