Garmin Instinct 2 Update

Users of Garmin smartwatches Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover can now download the beta version 16.02. The latest software addresses various issues related to the Battery Saver Watch Face, Health Monitoring App, and Morning Report. Garmin provides information in a forum post to assist customers with the installation process.

Update for Garmin Instinct 2 Series

The beta version 16.02 has been released for Garmin’s Instinct 2, Instinct 2s, Instinct 2X, and Instinct Crossover smartwatches. This latest update marks the first of the 16.xx series following the stable update 15.08. Similar to the previous public update, this beta version brings a series of bug fixes for the wearables.

Focus on Bug Fixes

The changelog notes that an issue with the Battery Saver Watch Face has been resolved, now displaying the correct time. A bug related to the Health Monitoring App, which caused the inReach screen to appear after usage, has been fixed, along with Garmin addressing an issue where data was not displayed on the activity summary page. Additionally, problems with truncated data have been addressed, such as the Boulder rest time and strength activity timer, as well as data truncation for high and low temperatures on the Morning Report page.

Availability and Installation

The beta version 16.02 is only available for download on the website and is not yet being transmitted over-the-air to wearables. Beta testers of the Instinct 2 series can download the update immediately from the Garmin forum. The company provides instructions on how to report errors and what to do if the watch freezes or crashes.
