Garmin has begun rolling out a new software update, version 19.38, for its Fenix 7 series, Epix, Enduro 2, Tactix 7, and Marq 2 smartwatches. The update is currently being deployed to users in stages, with approximately 50% of users having access to the update at this time. Garmin plans to gradually increase the rollout percentage over the coming days and weeks.
The update addresses several issues that users have reported, including:
- Workout schedule synchronization: The update resolves an issue where the device’s workout schedule would not match the schedule in the Garmin Connect app.
- Weekly totals accuracy: The update fixes a problem that could cause weekly totals to be incorrect after users changed the “First Day of Week” setting.
- Map pan/zoom icons: The update restores the pan/zoom icons on the map, which were missing in previous versions.
- Sleep mode re-enablement: The update addresses a potential issue where sleep mode would re-enable after sleep tracking had ended.
- Unexpected shutdowns: The update fixes potential shutdowns that could occur when saving or discarding an activity.
- Workout name translation: The update resolves an issue where workout names would not be translated correctly in some languages.
To update your Garmin smartwatch to version 19.38, follow these simple steps:
- Access the Settings Menu: On your smartwatch, navigate to the Settings menu.
- Select System: Within the Settings menu, choose the “System” option.
- Choose Software Update: Tap on “Software Update” to check for available updates.
- Install the Update: If version 19.38 is available, follow the on-screen instructions to initiate the update process.
Important Note: You do not need to be enrolled in Garmin’s beta program to receive and install this update. It is available to all users of compatible Garmin devices.
While this update brings several refinements, it’s important to note that it doesn’t include the highly anticipated Strength Coach feature or the ConnectIQ crash fix that was recently introduced in a beta release. Garmin users eager for these features may need to wait for future updates or consider joining the beta program to gain early access.
