This latest update brings a few improvements and bug fixes to enhance the overall user experience.

Key Improvements and Bug Fixes:

  • Explore App Optimization: The update refines the messaging related to course and location backups when synced with Garmin’s Explore App.
  • Round Trip Routing Fix: A critical issue that could cause the smartwatch to shut down during Round Trip Routing has been resolved.
  • Sleep Tracking Resolution: The update addresses a problem that prevented accurate sleep tracking on these devices.

One of the key improvements in this beta update is the optimization of the Explore App. Users will now experience clearer and more concise messaging related to course and location backups when syncing with Garmin’s Explore App. This enhancement aims to streamline the backup process and provide users with a smoother experience.

In addition to the Explore App optimization, Garmin has addressed a critical bug that could cause the smartwatch to unexpectedly shut down during the Round Trip Routing feature. This issue has been resolved to ensure uninterrupted navigation and avoid any inconvenience to users.

Furthermore, the update resolves a problem that affected sleep tracking accuracy on these devices. Users can now rely on their Garmin smartwatch to provide reliable and accurate sleep data, including sleep stages and heart rate variability.

To access the beta update, approximately 50% of Fenix 7 and related smartwatch users are currently eligible. Users can check for the update by navigating to Main Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates.
