The launch event for Garmin’s next-generation smartwatches is now official and will be held as a livestream. This marks a departure from Garmin’s usual practice of simply releasing a press release. Meanwhile, a comprehensive leak has revealed the prices and specifications of all variants of the Fenix 8, Fenix E, and Enduro 3.
After the Garmin Fenix 8 was recently spotted in a retailer’s listing and an unboxing video, Garmin has now officially announced the launch event for the new smartwatch. The embedded teaser video showcases various sports that the next-generation Garmin smartwatches can track, along with a prominent “8” that clearly references the Fenix 8.

Garmin will live stream the launch event on a dedicated event webpage on Tuesday, August 27th, starting at 1 PM CEST. This is quite unusual for Garmin, as the outdoor specialist typically announces new products through a simple press release. However, a livestream allows Garmin to demonstrate some of the new features, from the AMOLED display and voice assistant to the dive mode.
Meanwhile, the extremely reliable leaker billbil-kun has published the complete specifications and final prices of all variants of the Fenix 8, Fenix E, and Enduro 3 on Dealabs. For some models, only the US dollar price is known, but Garmin typically uses a 1:1 conversion rate. According to the leak, Garmin will introduce the following smartwatches on Tuesday:

Garmin Fenix 8
Apparently, Garmin is not offering any models with a built-in LTE modem. The choice between an AMOLED or MiP display does not affect the price but does impact battery life. For example, the 51mm Fenix 8 with an AMOLED display offers a battery life of 29 days, while the MiP model achieves 48 days. According to Dealabs, the smaller 43mm and 47mm AMOLED models have a battery life of 10 and 16 days, respectively.
Depending on the variant, the bezel and case back are made of stainless steel or titanium, and the case itself is made of fiber-reinforced polymer. The Fenix 8 is water-resistant to 10 ATM and supports dive mode up to a depth of 40 meters. Built-in microphones and speakers enable voice assistants. The LED flashlight, electrocardiogram (ECG), altimeter, compass, heart rate sensor, and SpO2 sensor are also included. The built-in storage remains at 32 GB.
Garmin Fenix E
The more affordable Fenix E also has an AMOLED display, but with thicker bezels. It comes in a 47mm diameter but has a screen diagonal of only 1.3 inches, compared to the 1.4 inches of the similarly sized Fenix 8. The Fenix E offers a battery life of 16 days and similar sensors to the Fenix 8, including ECG. However, the Fenix E lacks microphones, speakers, dive mode, and LED flashlight, and its built-in storage is only half the size at 16 GB.
Garmin Enduro 3
The Enduro 3, on the other hand, is a 51mm smartwatch with a 1.4-inch MiP display and solar cells, offering a battery life of 90 days. It has the same sensors and LED flashlight as the Fenix 8 but also lacks microphones, voice assistants, and dive mode.
