One month after launching the Garmin Instinct 2X! The latest leak suggests that Garmin is gearing up to release its new smartwatch, the Garmin Epix 2 Pro, on May 31st. According to a Garmin reseller and recent regulatory filings, the watch will be available for purchase in early June.
Case Sizes:
Rumored to offer customers greater choice in sizing, the Garmin Epix 2 Pro will apparently come in three different case sizes: 42mm, 47mm, and 51mm. This is a significant change from the original Epix 2, which was only available in a 47mm case. Additionally, the watch will feature a more premium build and will be offered in both sapphire and non-sapphire versions. The sapphire version will retail for $1,100, while the non-sapphire variant will cost $1,000. This is around $100 more than the current iteration.
Display:
One potential improvement to the new watch could be a slightly larger display. The Garmin Forerunner 965 features a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, which is 0.1 inches larger than the 1.3-inch display found on the Epix. This increase in size could be due to a smaller bezel, allowing for an increased screen size while maintaining the overall dimensions of the watch.
It is also possible that the Epix 2 Pro will include new performance metrics, which would inevitably trickle down to the recent crop of devices.
The original Epix 2 was released in January 2022 as a more luxurious version of the Garmin Fenix 7. The main distinction between the two is the Epix’s AMOLED display and premium design, which accounts for its higher price tag. The watch has received a good reception and has a fan base.
Overall!
It is important to note that the information regarding the Garmin Epix 2 Pro’s case size options, release date, and price are currently only rumors. However, if the leaked information is accurate, the Epix 2 Pro will be a highly anticipated addition to Garmin’s lineup of smartwatches.
