A few days after launching the Garmin Forerunner 965 and Forerunner 265. Garmin is back again and preparing to launch a couple of smartwatches in the Instinct series including, Garmin Instinct 2X, Instinct 2X Solar, EMS Instinct 2, EMS Instinct 2S, and EMS Instinct 2X. It is worth mentioning that Retailers have revealed the price of the upcoming Garmin Instinct 2X, as well as several iterations of the Garmin EMS Instinct 2 version.
Garmin Instinct 2X Series:
Recently, a new Instinct watch was discovered through an FCC filing, suggesting the development of an X variant. While Garmin has yet to confirm this, FCC documentation indicates that the new Instinct watch will have a 50+mm diameter and could potentially be the Instinct 2X.
The first retailer listing for the Instinct 2X appeared, providing unofficial confirmation that there will indeed be an Instinct 2X. Unfortunately, the page with the details was taken down, but the remaining information shows that there will be a Solar version of the device in addition to the non-Solar. Three separate versions of Instinct 2X Solar have been identified: Tactical Edition Black, Solar Moss, and Solar Tactical Edition Coyote Tan. The watches will cost $499.99, the same as the Solar edition of Instinct 2.
Interestingly, the moniker Instinct 2X has never appeared on a retailer’s website before. As the device’s release date approaches, more retailer leaks will likely emerge. Aside from the size, we do not anticipate any significant differences in specifications compared to other variants.

Garmin EMS Instinct 2 Series:
Another device spotted in the wild is the Garmin EMS Instinct 2, which briefly appeared on the UK version of the company’s website. The letters in the name stand for Emergency Medical Services, suggesting that this will be a device intended specifically for emergency responders and medical employees such as paramedics and ambulance crews.
The Garmin entry states that this will be a Series, so expect multiple iterations of the watch. The description of the device confirms that this watch will have an LED flashlight and will be based on the Garmin Instinct Tactical Edition for military personnel.
While most EMS personnel currently wear an Apple Watch, the poor battery life of the device could make the EMS variant of the Instinct 2 a tempting purchase. Additionally, the Instinct 2 is a very durable gadget, making it ideal for medical and emergency workers who may be working in hazardous outdoor or emergency situations. Garmin should be commended for keeping its watch costs reasonable over the last few years.
Pilot watches, for example, include features such as aviation maps, weather monitoring, and an integrated pulse oximeter to measure oxygen saturation levels at high altitudes. Tides, boat data tracking, and fishing activity tracking are all features of watches built with marine professionals in mind. Similarly, the EMS Instinct 2 may have features that cater specifically to the needs of emergency responders and medical professionals.
Price & Release Date:
So Far there is no information about the release date. However, Garmin may launch the new Instinct series in May or June at a price range between $499 to $599.
